Spiritually bankrupt, yet still thoughtless
After summer days filled with pleasure
Eyes green, winded with thin grey to impress
It took only minutes before I noticed her
I tried blaming it on a simple twist of fate
But like so many before, I looked up to the sky
Of tranquility I sang with no-one near to translate
But I lost you there, and we never said good-bye
I kept dreaming, and I tried writing you once more
But you frightened me, sent me to despair
Over mountains, through the land, to the shore
You never liked it I understood, I never cared
On that road again, like so many times before
And above us that menacing dark-grey sky
Up there I promised you everything, and more
But I lost you there, and we never said good-bye
