Sustaining emptiness, as your spiders crawl down the wall
Swiftly avenging, as your creeping dreams fall down the stairs
No caring, no sharing or whatsoever
Only dreams awakening deep thoughts
Only if your ghosts could scream, tell about it
And eventually pull the lever.

A little piece of Paris (but only at night).

At night, on the streets
Down into cellars, not to be seen
To the light, to the music
Into the cafés
Cherry wine, as if taken out of paintings
Impressions of Brussels
Brel is alive
In rooms where air only thickens at night
and where bikes are hung up to dry
A little piece of Paris,
but only at night.

Now that I say that I leave you now
And I seek your bright eyes lookin’
I hope you might find me on my return somehow
With your sharp ear you may hear me complaining
With your warm voice you can warme me up
Even when my inside is dying
Now that I say that I want you now
Your eyes to [...]

I saw them at the beach, and I said hey
And I said hey, don’t you know who are they?
Y’know that they, there in the sea
For them, dear man, nothin’ is for free
And I was about to go away, but the man said stay
Stay man, you got some drinks to pay
At the sight of the blinding [...]
About some people

Nobody ever told me about the men next to the road. They never said anything to me about their destination. They made me follow them through lakes of burning fire, through fires of biting cold. They made me go through, they made me unable to doubt. They put spices in my eyes, they made me [...]

You shouldn’t ‘ve got me into your song
Since you were sitting there
Talkin’, laughin’, how could I possibly care?
You knew right from the beginnin’
That you’d rather see me singin’
Of course, you were not aware
By not staring back at me
You were sending me to despair
Your very first look that night
Could’ve made me lose direction
Few can say, but [...]
I’m walking on this lonesome road

Walking down an endless road
That’s going down and down
Empty pockets, wore out coat
Looking back with eyebrows frown
Wond’ring what went wrong
It was the phantom of my past
That kept me alive for weeks
But I know now, this fire can’t last
Let me go while you still can
Make me hide behind tears
Squeezed out with nothing left
I walk on, afraid [...]
